ARTIST STATEMENT
"My desire to roll coils of clay by hand, and sculpt the forms that slowly grow within my presence is a process
of deliverance for me. Every coil is an individual creation and together they form the essence of each piece. Yet, the true
delivery of the work arrives through the firing process. Choosing to revive an ancient methodology of uniting clay with fire,
the primitive firing further partners the past with the present. My passion for placing leaves of precious metal into
an existence of hardened clay, ultimately imparts the dramatic visual response to complete the work. In reaching beyond traditional
ceramics; it is my hope that I have successfully embraced innovation and tradition by merging precious metals and clay to
forge original works of art of depth and beauty."
